Know how your body works especially the Brain

Important neuro - transmitters/hormones

Dopamine; Feel good hormone

You get a Dopamine dose when you do things you absolutely love. Though also associated with addictions but absolutely necessary for your mental health. Go play that soccer, gym, dance etc

Oxytocin: bonding hormone

You get a dose of this when you spend time with people you love. Stop being alone calling it self-love, it is affecting you over time

Serotonin: this is a mood stabiliser and very easy to get, just go for a walk in the morning Sun even if its 10mins. As for those in winter take your vitamin D (in the morning).

Keeping in dark places, fully indoors all in the name of being an introvert is affecting your mental health unintentionally so get out or open those windows

Endorphins: the body's natural pain reliever. Promotes pleasure. The only thing is that you don’t get this by folding hands or taking supplements.

You need to get that heart rate going up. That is why you always feel good after gym, a run or whatever.

The acronym is DOSE.

Let us be intentional about mental health and mental illnesses. They are more common than we think.

You could be next, seek help if things are not going well in your head
